Video Editing
I worked as a video editor for several YouTube channels. I have always been interested in visuals and sound effects and working as a video editor helped me to use different color grading on the film, visual decoration, and colors of the text. Drawing and building my design definitely helps me to improve my design sense, however, creating and editing a film taught me a slightly different but delicate way to attract an audience; visual effects, lighting, and sound effect.​
Mamapop 3

"Mamapop3" is a Korean YouTube Channel is about introducing the latest technologies and applications to the older generation who might be unfamiliar with the latest trends. As a video editor, I need to analyze what kind of mood and colors would be appropriate for our targeted audience.
Our viewers are mostly in the generations of the ’50s and ’60s, which convinced me to design as a retro style to make the audiences feel welcomed and excited for our content. Instead of using pop and fancy glowing colors, I focused on using pastel tones of retro styles such as a combination of blue, pink, and orange.

Popsquare is a YouTube channel for worldwide K-pop fans. It introduces K-pop related news, videos, and shows. Also, they present lots of fun giveaway events to many K-pop fans. Therefore, this video shows lots of excitement, fun, and engagement. The majority of the targeted audience of this channel are early adults. So, I decided to design with playful, bright, and colorful colors and visuals. Unlike “Mamapop3,” the background of the video is mostly plain and blur since it needs many reference images on the screen to help the audience to understand the content. I played around with many emojis, sound effects to get the young audience’s attention. Also, the younger generation prefers to watch rather than read, therefore I tend to minimize the subtitles.

Mamapop3 VS POPSQUARE
The biggest difference between designing “Mamapop3” and “Popsquare” was the opposite targeted audience. It was a challenge for me to match the design for “Mamapop3,” since I was not familiar with retro colors from my generation at first. However, I began to explore attractive colors and different mood boards for each generation. Designing two different videos significantly helped me to observe the diversity of colors sense and how to make the visuals more appealing to a specific audience.
Pudding Purrs is a cat YouTube channel. I started this YouTube channel to record the good memories I had with Pudding. For the video, I focused on color grading and background music since there is no video script. I choose warm and bright colors with upbeat and playful music to represent how fun and delighting Pudding is. Pudding Purrs channel was able to gain more than 70 subscribers in a month.
